D&D 5E CB's Stonefast IC -- COMPLETE

The sarcophagus bears runes in what looks like it might be Old Dwarvish that surround the lip of the lid. The tongue is strange, and many of the letters are foreign, even to Guran and Fulgrim.

OOC: A character who is proficient in Intelligence (History) can roll to know the information below. Add +1 to your die roll if you are a dwarf or speak Dwarvish. Alternately, I think Fulgrim has comprehend languages? That spell would work, too. As would Spec's Knowledge of the Ages ability from Channel Divinity. Just FYI.

[sblock=Intelligence (History) DC 12]The Old Dwarvish runes read, "Here lies Bruthrnor of Clan Dweonor, Devout of Marhammor Duin, Finder-of-Trails, Watcher Over Wanderers, the Watchful Eye, and Exarch of Moradin. May he rest evermore, his last journey foretold, his bones at peace, and swift vengeance to any who would be his bane." The same successful Intelligence (History) DC 12 ability check grants access to this knowledge: Marthammor Duin of the Forgotten Realms.[/sblock]

"Appears to be the tomb of a dwarven wandered named Bruthrnor. The runes warn of disturbing his grave," Fulgrim said.

"Does anyone know what these markings say?" asks Spec "It's not a script I recognize."

as he says this, he casts light on the wall, so that it doesn't move around with his head. Then he blows his nose.

Spec cast light on the westernmost wall. The magical light bounced and danced on the stonework wall before settling into bright gleam.

GM: A character who is either inside the room with the sarcophagus or standing in the door may make a Perception DC 15 check.

[sblock=Perception DC 15]The light dancing from Spec's spellwork reveals an irregularity in the stonework foundation of the sarcophagus. There's a seam. And an 1/16" gap between the stone foundation and the sarcophagus. The seam runs the perimeter of the sarcophagus, at least that you can see (no one has stated yet that they walk a circuit around the tomb).[/sblock]

Colden winces as the others begin looking over the sarcophagus. He surrepticiously takes a step out of the room.

"Maybe we should leave it alone?"
