Hmm ... nice stats, but one obnoxious/ugly mother!

Str: 13
Int: 16
Wis: 12
Con: 17
Dex: 16
Cha: 3

Perhaps an elf, focusing on magic-user -- aloof, and seldom speaks but to other elves? Or a dwarven fighting-man (shift points from Int to Str), who is not only rude, but stutters? Or a grizzled ranger, horribly battle-scarred, and aloof to others.

Blackleaf has spent virtually all of his young (for an elf, anyway) life as a hunter and scout for a small elven village located deep in the forest. A quiet, introverted youth, he prefers to keep to himself for long hunts in the forest, or studying the magic all elves dabble in. He has had virtually no experience with outsiders, though he has learned the languages of many non-elven races.

Blackleaf would have been content to live his solitary, unremarkable life in alone in the forest for the next 400 years, had not his brother and idol, Goldthistle, decided to take up the adventuring life. Goldthistle returned several times from his adventures with remarkable tales of a broader world, and fascinating trinkets of magic. Sadly, though, he is long overdue from his last expedition to track a band of goblins to its lair. Blackleaf has resolved to leave his forest home and enter the human-occupied Borderlands and search for his brother.

100% system shock for con 14 or higher. there is no separate resurrection score.
should be +2 AC; the Dex bonus is added to the opponents need to hit you not subtracted from your AC... we are using weapon vs armor type...

Saving throws
Stone 14
Staves/Spells 16

elves stone 13, staves/Spells 15

Abilities:
+1 to hit with sword/bow
Infravision

+1 to hit with sword OR bow you must choose.

elves don't have infravision. they see in the dark like it is normal light. ;)

Items on Self:
Leather armor
Sword (1d8 damage)

don't forget.. you can use normal armor, but you can't cast spells while wearing it. also don't forget swords do varying damage vs. creatures of different sizes...

Greyhawk shows separate resurrection & spell survival (system shock) through 18 Con (page 9).

Got it on weapn vs. armor type.

elves stone 13, staves/Spells 15

Cool. Didn't see that. What saves do thieves get? Not in Greyhawk at all.

+1 to hit with sword OR bow you must choose.

OR or XOR? Reads like OR to me ;)

Greyhawk pg 5: "As dwarves, elves have infravision and can see monsters up to 60' away in the dark".

Wanted to wear leather ... fits the background.

Sigh ... maybe another session.

Greyhawk does. tho, we are using the simpler rules.

it is in Greyhawk but it is buried in the alternate combat part pg 13. treat thieves as clerics for combat. and treat thieves as magic-users for saves.

we are using the simpler rules in Chainmail wrt seeing in the dark. ;)

it does. the current Magic-user in the group uses a shield. of coures, she hasn't cast a spell in view of anyone.
