A draw is declared at the end of round 852.

First for CN in round 853 is a mature adult fang dragon. PJS will fill you in with the details.

I do not have Sandstorm, so it being the example did not help me, but, as predicted, it did not matter.

Lawful Neutral applauds the sand dragon's use of logic in the arena. They did not think that the Chaotic Neutrals were capable of using it. :p

Fang VII has 8 ranks in Spellcraft; 13 ranks in Knowledge (nobility); and 24 ranks in Listen, Search, Sense Motive, Spot, and Use Magic Device.

Fang has the feats Alertness, Blind-Fight, Flyby Attack, Improved Initiative, Improved Natural Armor x2, Lightning Reflexes, and Wingover.

Round 853

A gargantuan worm with seven translucent segments and a huge toothed maw resembling that of a lamprey wriggles into the arena to 50N60E. It emits a horrible keening sound which deafens Fang (rolled 22 Fort save).

The worm must not be of noble birth because Fang knows nothing about it.

Fang casts shield (SPA, no verbal), flies to 55n80e60z and does a wingover, heading west. Fang wonders if his knowledge of the noble specimens helps him remember his spells.

Yes, Fang's knowledge helps because his spells are only of the most noble sort.

level 0 - create water, disrupt undead, ghost sound, inflict minor wounds, resistance, touch of fatigue
level 1 - bless, doom, ray of enfeeblement, sanctuary
level 2 - cat's grace, darkness

Round 854

The worm turns and looks at Fang, waiting. It makes that horrible sound again, but Fang cannot hear it.

Fang will hit it with a ray of enfeeblement and fly to 20e and do a wingover. If the ray hits and works, does it qualify as negating the draw? This is pertinent to Fang's buff time. :)

Yes, because adversely affecting one of your opponent's ability scores forestalls a draw.

Round 855

Fang can get the spell off, even though he cannot hear himself (32%) and hits (rolled 38 ranged touch). The worm's Strength is reduced by 5, down to 30.

Feeling weak, the worm does nothing but make that noise.

Assuming the worm doesn't do anything else, these are Fang's next few rounds. If he fails to cast a spell, he will keep trying that spell until successful and the last spell in the list will not be cast.

856: Fang smiles a toothy smile and casts cat's grace (requires verbal) and flies to 80e.
857: Cast bless (V) and fly to 20e.
858: Cast doom (V) and fly to 80e.
859: Cast resistance (V) and fly to 20e + wingover.
860: charging down to 55n40e and bite.

I have no idea what this thing's abilities are, so I don't know if time compression is in order. Fang will likely attack for a little while unless it's obvious he's getting creamed, at which point he would try to flee to the sky for a draw.

856: Fang smiles a toothy smile and casts cat's grace (requires verbal) and flies to 80e.
857: Fang casts bless (V) and flies to 20e.
858: Fang casts doom (V) and flies to 80e. The worm is unaffected.
859: Fang does not successfully cast resistance (20%), but flies to 20e + wingover.

This whole time the worm just waited at 50N60E, while making that noise.

Round 860: As Fang approaches, the worm bites him with an AoO(rolled 48) for 25-10=15 points of damage. The worm then grabs Fang in its mouth (70 vs. 41 grapple). To complete his charge, Fang bites the worm back (rolled 38-4+1+2=37) for 23 points of damage, but no Con drain (rolled 33 Fort save). The worm has 397 HP remaining.

The worm chews on Fang for 31-10=21 points of damage, then swallows him (56 vs. 45 grapple). Fang takes 8 points of acid damage from digestive juices.

With his darkvision, Fang can see a whole lot of smaller worms in the big worm's stomach. Some of them try to burrow into Fang, and Fang cannot withstand them (rolled 34 Fort save), taking 7 points of Constitution damage.

Fang has 113 HP remaining, and his Constitution is down to 12.

Fang is first in round 861. Is he going to try to cut his way out using his sharp natural weaponry, or try to climb out of the stomach back into the mouth?

Well, you can't blame Fang for giving it the Ole College Try. He'll try to claw his way out of the beast's stomach and fly up and away for the draw. That's pretty much all he can do, really. A 34 Fort save is not good enough to resist the little buggers? Holy smokes! Don't even tell me if a 35 would succeed.
