Confusion confusion

1-10: attack caster...
11-20: act normally
21-50: do nothing
51-70: flee away from caster...
71-100: attack nearest creature...

What happens if the confused creature cannot see the caster (greater invisibility) and you roll a 1-20 or 51-70 result?

Reroll on chart?

Or perhaps the confused creature attacks the last square he saw the caster in (if any)?

"A confused character who can’t carry out the indicated action does nothing but babble incoherently."

Seems to cover your situation.

The last square he perceived the caster to be in should be treated as the caster. Unless the caster actively chose to move silently, the confused creature most likely hears the caster move. And unless the spell was silenced, there is a good chance he knows the casters square since the caster was speaking forcefully a moment ago.

If he does not know the caster's square or general direction to attack with an area effect, evil bob's quote covers the situation. Fleeing from caster is also easy enough to figure out if the nutcase knows the general location of the caster from a listen check.
