D&D 3E/3.5 Convert 3/3.5 ed monsters to 4 ed

So I have been Iraq for the last few years, so i just picked up D&D 4th edition. Its different, which is good and bad. Anyways, to get on point, I have a TON of cutom monsters I made for 3/3.5 edition and I really want to use them in 4ed. Is there any way to convert them or am I stuck doing it from scratch?

There's no way to simply convert elements from previous editions to 4th Edition. "Doing it from scratch" is more or less how it has to be done, but in all honesty that's a lot easier than it sounds.

As far as monsters go, I really suggest taking a look at the new Monster Builder application released through D&D Insider. If you want to build custom monsters, that is your new best friend.

I would also recommend Asmors Monster Maker

This is the application I use, and being a luddite I still have a few reservations about the DDI monster maker.
