Why does density increase a character's weight exponentially, while a character's carrying capacity is not increased exponentially?
It seems to me a lot of people are calculating that x4 per +10 strength as if it were exponential, when in fact...it isn't.
"For Strength scores not shown on Table: Carrying Capacity, find the Strength score between 20 and 29 that has the same number in the "ones" digit as the creature’s Strength score does and multiply the numbers in that for by 4 for every ten points the creature’s strength is above the score for that row." - SRD
That's not an exponential increase, it's a flat +x4 per +10. Which means +40 Str = x16, not x256.
...or is that an error in the SRD?
