Hey QuietBrowser, I thought I would bring up my two favourite setting books from 4E, since no one else has mentioned them: Hammerfast and Monster Vault: Threats to the Nentir Vale. While I enjoyed the info on the Dawn War and the tiefling-dragonborn war available in 4E, I found over time that all that lore added more to my experience than the players (and we never got as far as the other planes). These books, on the other hand, great heroic-tier setting books, chock-full of adventure ideas, factions, interesting encounters and setting information that could be brought in to immediately engage the players. If you don't have them already, check them both out.
