It's spring break for the local college that half of my gaming group attends, which means I'm short a few players for my Dark•Matter game.
Since one of the missing players is integral to the upcoming arc, I decided to pause the game and do something a little bit different with the remaining players.
So I'm running the Masque of Red Death adventure, Dark Magic in New Orleans, as a prequel to my present day campaign.
And rather than use Alternity, I decided to adapt the system I created for the most recent RPG challenge. It's pretty simple, which was perfect, as I had two guest players who had never played RPGs before.
It needs a few tweaks, but I think the foundation is pretty sound. Take a look
