We ended up subscribing to Dropout for this and have loved both the channel and this season.
The drag queens all vary in how familiar they are with D&D. Officially, none of them have ever played before, but it seems likely that Bob and Monet watched at least some other actual play videos.
Brennan is a great DM for new players, allowing them to stretch the rules when it's harmless and only stepping in when necessary. (Jujubee confuses her character's illusion ability with actual shapechanging, which Brennan lets slide when it's not a mechanically significant to mention.)
It's a very short, focused four-episode game (two hours plus each, though) of the four Questing Queens descending into the Underworld to ask the Goddess of Death for various favors. But their enemies are also making the same trip to thwart them or for their own reasons.
It's probably the most standard D&D campaign Dimension 20 has run since Escape the Blood Keep, but it's fun to see Brennan stretch some Planescape-adjacent muscles with towns on either side of the veil of death catering to travelers across the border, etc.

Love the premise. Queens descending into the Underworld is a classic.
The combination of the queens as talented performers and as newbie D&D players is absolutely charming. Jujubee's asides to Brennan when she's just impressed by his description, or the moments when things go wrong and they discover they abruptly care very much about keeping everyone alive are really compelling.

Yeah, it stopped being a goof for Alexis and Jujubee about halfway through the first episode, which was neat to see.
