No, the individuals responsible for the changes ARE in fact imbeciles. I don't think I've ever met a single person with even moderate gaming experience who would think any of the treasure/faction changes are anything short of egregiously stupid. My five year old nephew who probably doesn't know what Dungeons and Dragons even IS (could be wrong about this, little guy's a lot more canny and aware than you'd expect) would write more intelligible, better balanced, and more enabling rules.

Dude, it is time to chill out a bit. Insults and positions of the form "you must be mentally deficient or have no experience to disagree with me" are not what we consider civil discourse. and "Keep it civil," is EN World's Rule #1.

The emotional loading does not support your point. It makes you look irrational. It makes it look like you will attack people, rather than disagree with their opinions. It is okay to not like the changes - just don't be a jerk about it.

My FLGS, like many others, elected to drop AL entirely in favor of a loose-knit pair of "open D&D gaming nights" as a result of the Season 8 morass. There will doubtless be problems with character portability, but nothing insurmountable.

I encourage the wittingly and unwittingly ignorant here to actually read the season 8 rules changes as well as the AL player base's thoughts and discussions of those changes.
