Does a ranged touch attack have a range increment?

Acid arrow is a long range spell. 400 ft +40 per level. If spells where you have to hit on a ranged touch attack have a range increment, like regular ranged weapons, that could be a tough hit for a low BAB caster at, say, 900 feet out.

Can't find a range increment for spells, though. Am I blind?

No range increments for ranged touch attack spells. There is simply a maximum range as written in the text of the spell, so no ranged attacks beyond the max range.

huh. That means these spells hit on a ranged touch attack from as far away as 3 football fields, with no penalties to hit for distance. An archer trying to match the max range of a 10 level caster would be rolling at -16, to hit full AC. That's pretty keen...

Thanks for the reply.

Hey no problem, keep in mind that the archer can pluck away all day long relative to the mage who can only dish out so many spells per day. Yea no penalties for distance, that's magic for ya heh. ;)

Another way to think of it is that the archer is probably shooting at an arc and dealing with things like wind resistance whereas the mage is tossing frickin' laser beams that travel at the speed of light. Point 'n zap interface. :)
