Nice cover, but I don't like the mechanical look to modrons.
Is this one better, then? ;)

They've always looked like that.

And I can't wait for this magazine. I really hope the staff plan on doing the other 8 modrons as a WE or something.

To me, it looks like it is based on the 2e Planescape representation of a modron. I love it and cannot wait to get my hands on this article.

Somewhere, Primus is frowning over how the modron on this month's Dragon cover is a rogue.

I think they've said that if this issue does well, they'll do the other half of the modrons in a future issue.

Personally, I know it's not likely, but I'd like to see stats for Primus (he's a lesser deity, so it wouldn't be that hard).

Yeah, DiTerlizzi added a sort of biomechanical look to modrons, moving a bit away from the living dice look they had in their original 1e version. The modron lurking in the 3e MotP and in the Ecstasy article in Dragon 351 retained the DiTerlizzi style of outsiders that appear like living machines.

Though given that style, some part of me is morbidly curious to see a modron drawn by HR Giger. ;)
