It's the +1 wild dragonhide full plate that is scary. For about 20,000 GP a druid gets a +9 armor bonus in wild form without any of the penalties. The limitation of wildshape has always been the AC. +9 is sorta helpful.

In 3.0 there were already enough options to get a great ac, including all kinds of wooden full plates and animated wooden shields ... druids tend to have top of the line AC's in our groups.

The big problem for druidic AC is they aren't proficient with heavy armor. Chain shirts are really the best AC/weight ratio but it requires a lot of steps to wind up with ironwood chain. And expensive, whooo. Dragonhide's far more reasonable at lower levels (especially for a gnome).
