Thanks to Bellus' quick thinking, the party now has a means of marking its progress. Eager to press on before Dorian's spell fades, the group proceeds down the western stair.

These stairs descend 20 feet, and then emerge into a hall which runs north and south. In the silvery glow of Dorian's magical light, the group can make out that the walls are adorned with painted frescoes of humans riding, running along with, or chasing horses. A few ride winged horses high in the sky.

A skeletal corpse lies near the bottom of the stairs.

A diagonal passage leads from this room to the southwest, while a downward sloping corridor exits and curves away to the southeast. On the southern wall is a closed wooden door.

Justin peers around his fellow adventurers, noticing the pale bones reflecting the light from Dorian's spell. He quickly glances around the rest of the room for signs of some killer, but seeing none, he sighs slightly.

"Well, SOMETHING killed that guy. Trap?"

He begins looking around near the skeleton for any signs of a trap that he might have triggered.

Justin doesn't find any sign of traps near the body. As evidenced by the skeletal state of the corpse, it has been dead for a long time. With this level of decomposition, it's impossible to tell what may have been the cause of death.

"It seems like whatever killed him is long gone." Illian will say calmly, "If what Dorian says is true, we should keep moving before we run out of light".

"Uh. . . yes. No sense in lingering here."

Justin shoots a nervous glance back at the skeleton. He looks over the rest of the room again, twitching as he catches sight of someone's shadow on the far wall, but it is just one of his allies passing in front of the light. He sighs slightly.

"Left again?"

He points toward the sloping passage.

Dorian takes a closer look at the frescoes wondering if they might provide clues to the purpose of Dragon's Delve or the Wendways that he's curious about. He doesn't linger though and is pulled away from his inspection by Justin's words, "Um, yes lets keep going left."

Dorian's cursory examination reveals only that the frescoes look a bit timeworn.

Yeah, we'll stick to left turns for now. Lets have a listen before we head down. Clip walks over to the opening and pears in, holding his breath as he strains to hear any sounds of movement down the curving hall.

Clip's ears are full of wax; he hears nothing from down the left passageway.

I'm going to give the other players time to get in with a post before I advance things, in case they want to do anything in this room.
