Does anyone have a supplement which provides possible statistics (thickness, hardness, hit points, break DC) for dungeon walls made of clay or packed earth? It's not one of the wall types listed on page 60 of the DMG.
Such a structure would be unrealistic if it were very large and/or very deep. Those sorts of walls would buckle very easily, that's probably why it wasn't considered.
Off hand, I'd say maybe half the stats for wood and a % chance of some sort for a cave-in that increases based on the damage a wall section has taken.
They'd certainly be realistic for something like the tunnels used by the V.C. in the vietnam war. Those went down three of four levels in spots and were earthen and natural clay walled.
Room and tunnels would have to be shored up here and there with beams and supports so the stats for such woodwork would be fairly important.
Per the Stronghold Builders Guide:
Earth: 10 hp/foot of thickness, Hardness 2, Break DC 10 + 3 per foot of thickness.
Wood: 10 hp/inch of thickness, Hardness 5, Break DC 14 + 1/inch
