Energy Drain

Aside from the obvious, such as Undead, are there any subtypes (read:Species) that would be immune to life level drain? Would a plant suffer such? Outsiders? Both Evil and Good?

Does it make a difference what the source of the drain comes from, via spell or undead touch?

Typically, anything is vulnerable to energy drain so long as it is alive and its description does not state that it is immune to such. The source of the drain doesn't matter. Energy drain by spell is just as dangerous as by the touch of a Wight, Vampire, etc.
