I was thinking about a halfling Slayer dumping STR & 20 DEX & obviously he has to use one handed weapons. The weapon specialisation benefit is marginal but the smaller damage die will count against you probably more than +2 AC & REF help (which is essentially the halfling benefit as well as the shield benefit).
It looked sub optimal but definitely playable. What will stop me is that it looks incredibly dull - my Barbarian is boring enough & he has more options than the slayer, but to each his own.
