D&D General Finding Stuff in a Bag of Holding

I don't think it was in the rules, but we used to have it take 1 round to reach in and feel around to grab whatever specific thing you were looking for. If you wanted an "object interaction" or quick grab of something, we usually kept a running tally of what was in the bag, and randomized on that, larger things being more likely to be grabbed. But it was all very loosey goosey with our table.

And our DM pretty much universally gave us lots of magic items (this was Ad&d and 2e) all the time, because he took them away or destroyed them all the time. You learned not to keep very expensive stuff or anything you really needed in the bag of holding...

Turn the Bag of Holding upside down and open it; everything will fall out.
You may want to do this while leaning out a second-story window, because you never know when somebody will stash a statue or a small pond worth of water in there (because nobody ever pays attention to the RAW capacity limits).

Ok, somebody needs to write an app that randomly generates existing contents, with (small) chances for cool stuff. Maybe a couple input parameters like party level and how it was found/who was using it.
For starters… 1d6 items from the random trinkets table
2d6 pieces of mundane adventuring gear
and maybe one roll on the CR 0-4 Treasure Hoard table from the DMG.
