Meh… Romero is overrated, and his last zombie movies have sucked. He would end up ruining the show. I'm glad he didn't direct any episodes.

Romero doesn't seem to realize that what works for a movie does not necessarily work for a long-running TV serial. Of course they don't use the zombies for a particular point of satire or political commentary. There's only so long you can carry forward a particular satire or criticism before it gets old! In a movie, you can have a single message. A long-running TV show needs a far more nuanced and flexible approach to symbolism if it is to succeed.

Big time. The guy doesn't have anything original to add to the genre. Than again, the his first zombie film also contained flying saucers. Made me think of Plan 9 from Other Space.
