My preference is to be able to sit down, read the module through once, and put it to table, essentially as written.

The Encounters version of HOTDQ is almost there... if the stat blocks had been included in the specific encounters rather than in the appendix and in basic DM's, it would have been there. Perhaps I'm spoiled by FFG's Star Wars and Dark Heresy modules, and by BXCMI D&D modules... because with those, open, skim, and run, pencilling damage in the margins or on handy scratch paper, is a doable way to run a decent game.

As is, I prefer to have HP check-off-box sheets, anyway. And most of the time, I have to do those.
