I think Champion would work better because Indy doesn't use melee weapons which Battle Master abilities require melee weapon attacks, and it help out his combat and athleticism.

For Expertise: take History, Athletics, Acrobatics, and Investigation
For Fighting Style: take unarmed fighting, defense, or archer

let's point out the elephant in the room.

Indy's a Gnome.

He looks good now, but in a few years, he'll look like a short bearded Scotsman not unlike Sean Connery. :p

Also every Indy build I've seen seems to default to Gnome.

Well seeing how my childhood was recently ruined on tiktok with this info, I'm going to just leave this right here:

I wouldn’t sweat it. You can watch the films without the cross referencing and calculation and never need to know about a tasteless conversation between creatives. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think it ever comes across on the screen. As the article says, the actress was 30 when she played the part. It’s probably why it doesn’t come across as creepy.
