How to get a lot of minis on the cheap?

I've investigated UK minis singles and I've found the following.

Tritex (http://www.tritex-games.co.uk) have a large stock, reasonably priced, and visit lots of conventions. I've bought from them and they're very friendly.

Wickeddice (http://www.wickeddice.co.uk) have a fair amount of older stock, interestingly, and are fairly cheap. I've bought from them but they're being a little slow to send me the stuff.

Adventures Gate (http://www.adventuresgate.co.uk) have some fairly cheap stuff but don't seem to have very much stock at all.

There are some retailers who have eBay shops, but if anything these tend to be a little more expensive. Well worth looking at if you're looking for something specific.

Those are the ones I know about in the UK.

Counters simply don't cut it for me. We tried them once, I bought the whole set of Fiery Dragon counters, but it just wasn't right.
This is me, too. Many of the counter sets are really nice, art-wise ... but there's just no substitute for a three-dimensional representation.

On the other hand, I have a good 120 cubic feet devoted to miniatures organization and storage now, and counters definitely don't need that kinda space!

As for the OP, if you can wait about three more weeks for the new D&D miniatures set to be released, there were be a glut of Commons and Uncommons flooding eBay in lots.

On the subject of counters, does anybody know where you can get plastic stands for counters so you can mount them vertically?

Thanks!
