Yeah two signs you are a decent DM:

1) They ask you to do it again.

2) They don't lynch you on the spot.

Well, it was the person who was DMing before who asked me if i wanted to do it again. He even said he thought i was better than he was. If he lets me, i am thinking about becoming the permanent DM. I am less strict than him, and the other players thought i was a good DM.

GMing is a great thing as long as you and your players are on the same page. Nothing worse than thinking you're going to be playing Conan in a world gone mad with magic.

Let us know how it continues to go and take into account the player's actions if you do long term games. It always comes back to haunt 'em.

If it was your first time GMing, I would have started with first levelers.
Significantly less to keep track of and you get more complex as the players do.

Well, i was continuing the current game. My DM just cretaed a character to play with. And i know what they are capable of, having played with them before. All i did was write down their AC and HPs.
