Tirion nodded to Evendur. “Can they also put us up for the night?” he asked. “It would be best to not try and travel in the night.” He peered into the darkness. The place was the Wild Coast for a reason. Orcs and worse were out there in the dark, and would only grow worse as they headed south toward Highport.

“I can light the way if we have need,” he offered, reaching for his holy symbol.

The ranchers that might have horses are about an hour walk in the dark to the south west of the village. There is suppose to be a small group of them that have a string of small homestead, mini-forts in that area. Whether or not they will be friendly at night is another matter all together...

Scratching his face, Evendur looks around as they travel.

"Which way is south west?" he asks. "There should be a settlement about an hour from here."

At Lavenna's comment he smiles. "Nest of vipers more like, I think we can safely say that the law and noble representatives of this fine town are more crooked than..... well something really crooked!" he finishes lamely.

Brak knows which way is which, simply from the sea breeze that can still be felt here (the group is no more then a few hundred yards from the coast).

Brak had a flash of brilliance, looked at the sea, furrowed his brow for an inordinate amount of time, and then pointed away from the city. "That's southwest."

Tirion nodded to Brak. “Then let’s find a safe place to rest for the night, whether it be with the ranchers or elsewhere,” he said, pulling out his amulet to give them some light to travel by in the wilderness. It was dangerous to travel in the dark, with or without light, but at least with light they wouldn’t fall into some hole.

The group heads south and farther from the coast, guided by lights from Levanna and Tirion, and Brak leading the way. The night is cold and even away from the coast there is a mist on the ground that collects around small trees and bushes. Passing a few more homesteads, the group's more nature-centered can tell that most of the people around here are herders and shepherds of some kind; the land would support little else here but a few small gardens.

After a couple of hours of slow travel the group comes upon the first ranch-house like mini-fort, with an attached heavily fortified barn or stable that might hold horses or some other large livestock. The windows to the house are all closed with heavy reinforced wooden shutters, but a little light peeks out here and there. There are two or three more of the houses with large barn like structures within a few hundred yards farther into the hills that the group can make out due to the small lights and lanterns attached to the places. It appears that they could come to each other's aid if need be...

No one can be seen moving about within the nearby home but animal noises can be heard from the barn... and then a dog starts barking and is quickly picked up by a number of other dogs chained up outside the home.

Evendur using his superior sight looks around for something that looks like an obvious entrance.

"Maybe we don't skulk about and try the front door?"he suggests.
