D&D 5E Iconic characters in 5e books?

I liked the idea of the iconic characters (even if I didn't like some of them).
The coolest thing about them, which is probably why they had iconic, was how they were adapted according to various supplements. So you see Mialee in the pub and then later would be Mialee as an epic level wizard.

There are not iconic in the way it used to be. But in the phb and I think the first dm's screen you can see some art of the same characters that the ones in the first miniatures blister. I just woke up, so maybe my brain is not working properly. But I'm sure that some characters got more than one piece of art, still that doesn't count as iconic.

Here the dm's screen shows the characters from the miniatures (they even got a second miniature set in "action stands" or something like that)
