I was born The Day The Music Died. On the day of my birth, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper went to their sad demise -- every year, I play their music in remembrance.

And I've been playing, with only minor gaps, since Labor Day Weekend, 1975.

LOL. One of my groups has almost a 50-year span (we've got twin 18-year-old girls, and a player in his mid 60s), but yes, I could say the same about the maturity level in that group.
