Immortals Handbook - Chronicle (Adventures, Campaigns Discussion)

I've been reading what you've said on chronicle and its probably the book that I most want (though grimoire is more important). I have a few questions on it.

Fire away mate! :)

Axolotl said:
Will there be any prestige classes for sidreals and eternals?

I wasn't planning any, at least not any 'specific' for sidereals or eternals.

Axolotl said:
Will any of the organisations be of eternal levels of power?

The organisations will be of Pantheon level power, which is variable, but in and around First One type power.

Axolotl said:
In the "Gods versus the Future" section will it be based on d20 future?

Only indirectly, moreso d20 Modern which is then extrapoloated upon.

I remember talking to one of the authors of d20 future on these forums when the book came out and explaining to him where he had went wrong with his weapon damages - in particular his nukes.

Axolotl said:
What sort of material will it include?

Hi tech weaponry, armour, ships and technology.

Axolotl said:
What PL will it go up to?

12

Axolotl said:
Will it have a version of your divine rank/tech level comparison table?

Yes.

Axolotl said:

Do you mean the "divine rank/tech level comparison table"? Or something else?

Axolotl said:

Thats an interesting idea, I'll consider it. Technically the only future based 'organisation' I was contemplating was of course the Inevitables who police time.

Axolotl said:
Would it be possible to include a few pages on the different dimensions fully detailing them and sample locations?

Well the lower dimensions are pretty well detailed in books like Manual of the Planes.

Axolotl said:
Will there be a sample epic area like Union?

I was contemplating a Forgotten City of the Gods, but it wouldn't be anything as trite as Union. More an adventure than a place where the gods interact and socialise.

I was more asking if it would cover the same areas as future.
Hi tech weaponry, armour, ships and technology.
Will it include things like robots, mechs, nanites and aliens?
Would have thought it would be higher than that.
Good.

Badly phrased question ignore it.

I was thinking more the higher dimensions as well as Nth, Byss and Abyss

Sound like a cool idea :D .

Hey Axolotl! :)

I doubt it (I don't have d20 future for a start), and remember this will only be one section within a chapter.

Axolotl said:

It will have rules (and examples) so that you can build your own robots, mechs etc.

It won't have aliens, although I consider Aberrations/Pseudonaturals indistinguishable from aliens.

While I was brainstorming I wrote down stats for the Terminator, Stormtroopers, Predators and Aliens. So those may see the light of day as examples (under different names probably).

But you haven't even seen PL 12 yet. ;)

It ain't about Wookies and Blasters.

I have an adventure planned in the Far Place so that will detail that a bit.

Byss is really just nothingness, so it doesn't need a map.

The others might well see some treatment or other. ;)

If you get the chance, check out these d20 fan-productions for the Terminator, Aliens, Predator, etc. by noted freelancer Michael Tresca. I helped some on the Terminator and Evil Dead ones.

I keep wanting to do a crossover between Aliens, Predator, Evil Dead, and Terminator. It'd be Earth in the future, with John Conner and Ash being the last hope for humanity as those four evils ravage the world and each other in a battle for ultimate supremacy.

Thats a brilliant website, lots of cool pdfs. A few things I would do differently of course, but thats a given. I'll have to put a link to it on my website.

AvPvT

It could work. Hows about this.

Ash slept too long at the end of Army of Darkness and wakes up in the future as the Terminators conquer mankind. However, the humans (under John Connor) have found a stash of Predator tech (a crashed Predator ship - the one at the end of AvP) that could tip balance of power. However the ship was taken over by Aliens (thats why it crashed). Of course the Predators send a search party and the grand hunt begins.

I just want a T-1000 vs. Alien Queen vs. Predator Hierarch vs. Connor (in Mech Loader) vs. Demon Possessed Ash battle with the humans just trying to survive.

Ash could get a T-800 arm to make up for his medieval mechanics.

The idea of a crashed Predator ship being the reason the Aliens and the Predators are there is a great way to justify them being on Earth when this happens. It goes without saying, of course, that Ash's being there means that the deadites will be also (I'm currently trying to get the Ash vs. Marvel Zombies crossover).

Ash getting a T-800 arm is brilliant; I'd consider making it the arm from the T-X, since that has a diamond-tipped buzzsaw on it, which'd perfectly account for how he often attaches a chainsaw there.

In this campaign idea, I wouldn't give the humans too much more advanced tech (they've already got plasma rifles and such), since the PCs in such a campaign shouldn't be overshadowed by the likes of Ash and John Conner. The idea is that the humans are, at this point, surviving because each of their enemies considers them less of a threat than one of the others.

Skynet is most worried about the Aliens. Much worse than humans, these biological entities show no fear, and have startling natural defenses. Their organized hivemind lets them put up a much greater resistance than the humans ever did, and with the circumstantial evidence that the Queens are intelligent, they represent a much greater threat to Skynet's existence than humanity ever did.

The Aliens are most worried by the Predators (or at least, the Queens are, as much as they worry about anything). The Predators have hunted them for eons, and know all of their tricks, strengths, and weaknesses. They're the ones who have the best knowledge of their tactics, and can best counter them.

The Predators are most worried about the deadites. These things don't seem to play by the rules, making dead bodies suddenly sit up and move around again, and worse, sometimes possess living creatures; even other Predators (though not often). The deadites are like no foe the Predators have ever faced, and they don't know how to deal with them.

The deadites are most worried about the terminators. They cannot possess machines, and computers feel no fear. For the first time, the undead are meeting the unliving, and they're not prepared to face an enemy that just classifies them as an unknown anomoly and moves to deal with them. Skynet is like no foe they've ever faced.

And the humans are more hunkered down than ever, trying to survive a four-way war as they struggle to take back a world that should belong to them.

yessssssssssssssss

...so who gets to play Robocop in all this? :D

Think about it, when the nukes went off Robocop could have survived.

Perhaps Cyberdyne are affiliated with Omnicorp?

So if he shows up, the humans don't know whether to trust Robo or not but he can 'hack' into Cyberdyne software and 'reprogram' assembly line T-800 CPUs. Hes a valuable asset.

But the Cyberdyne computer inhabits Robocop's dreams - trying to 'turn' him against the humans.

Interesting, I'm not generally a big DC fan (Though I did buy the Sinestro Corps one shot a month or two ago), so it might help to list the Injustice League...according to wikipedia:

Agamemno...Psionicist 90
Lex Luthor...non-epic (though could wear some hi-tech armour I suppose?)
Black Manta...Fighter 90, fused to armour?
Chronos...Rogue 90 with time travel powers/items
Catwoman...non-epic...exchange for (evil facsimilie of) the Goddess Bast?
Doctor Light III...Cleric 90
Felix Faust...Sorcerer 90 (artifact wand)
Mr. Element...Druid 90
Penguin...non-epic
Sinestro...Psionicist 90 (ring artifact)

Second Injustice League

Cluemaster...non-epic
Major Disaster...Druid 90
Clock King...non-epic, love the name though (could be interesting merged with Chronos)
Big Sir...Fighter 90 (special armour and mace)
Multi-Man...very interesting character (random assorted level/abilities)
The Mighty Bruce...?

Personally though I would use some of the following:

Gog...Fighter
Reverse Flash...Rogue
Sinestro...Psionicist
Pluto (Intermediate God of the Dead)...primarily a Cleric
Mongul...Monk
Doomsday...Monster
Darkseid...?
Monarch...?

CR 80 to 250 isn't helping us narrow down options or levels (I just stuck out a random number above). Can you give us more to go on...?
