Thanks everyone for your replies! I greatly appreciate it.

After seeing the deal going on drivethrurpg I went ahead and picked up the Runequest/Legend pdf and begun taking a look at it. The depth of the combat system is exactly what I'm looking for, and the magic system looks like it's flexible enough for me to incorporate things from my own setting, along with creating the diversity for my PC's.

So, thanks again everyone for your replies!

In time, I do hope to check out GURPs, but Runequest seems to satisfy my needs for now.

Actually, Runequest 6 was developed by the original authors of Runequest II (now Legend) via their own company called The Design Mechanism, published by Moon Design Publications - who are handling the distribution.

The Design Mechanism now has the license to produce Runequest and Glorantha material.
