Just finished reading all of Clark Ashton Smith's short stories

After reading The Empire of the Necromancers in an anthology entitled Appendix N, I decided to delve into more about of Smith’s work, and boy oh boy is he fantastic. Really worthwhile reads.

How can I not have heard of this author? Will do some research. Need something to read as I’m coming to the end of Napoleon Bonepart’s biography.

He wrote a number of stories set in the same milieu; Averoigne (gothic France) and Zothique (weird gothic end-of-time) collections come to mind. I enjoyed those. His Hyperborea stories are good, too. They tend be more scattered.

There was a 5 volume set that you might be able to find, but it was a limited run.
