You're asking why people in this thread feel something no one here has said they feel anything about. No one has said they are bothered by when people at other tables talk on their phone. So how can they give you a why?

Indeed, no one mentioned that. It is the person in front of me playing with their phone or talking that bothers me.

That being said, people who eat near me might bother me because people generally talk louder when they talk to a phone, some ring tones are anoying, and they sometime have to get up to talk outside so they might brush on your table or you. That is bothersome.
