Hey Lief, What level will the "New recruits" be?

[sblock=privet thought]
You know, I have been thinking. Yes, I know how dangerous that is, but hey, life can get boring and this might make it interesting. Any who, Dr. Jekyll, Alchemist, is looking to get away from the academy. He has a friend that has told him it is best to move on for a while, that the destruction of the alchemical lab may or may not have been caused by him but there was a strange beast in there during the destruction, then disappeared.

The young Doctor was found with clothing torn and passed out on the floor in a corner. If his 'Mr. Hyde side' were to be dormant for a while until he gains a level in summoner (Synthesist). The effect would be like he drinks a potion he created-but there was an error in the creation of it. He changed as he wanted, but lost his mind. He tore up the lab, in the form of some sort of bestial creature of mixed content, then changed back. He has not recreated the potion for a while, but the feeling of the power of that creature was-addictive-leaving a longing within him.

In time he succumbs to the longing and changes into the creature again, having the potion formula memorized and the reagents always on hand. He is looking to get away form the academy so he can keep from being found out.

In game terms, he starts off as an alchemist - beastmorpher Arch type with levels in summoner Synthesist archetype. Mr Hyde would be the eidalon. the mental stats would be the beast morpher stats due to the debilitating effect of the original concoction. Reading the description of both, I feel it best fits the concept. a level in one, then a level in the other.

This would satisfy two purposes: the first being a part of the Whirtlestaffs Academy, the second the need for a frontline fighter.

Oh, and Leif, if you are readig this, I hope that you might have some good input to add.

You know the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, right? if so I think I have figured out how to give the same feel but in a class/archtype combination.

yes, I believe they are found in the APG. But I am providing links for your ease of finding them. I should have done this from the beginning, actually. Sorry about that.

Will that help?

Ok, I'm going to have to give that some thought, De War. I wasn't that thrilled with how Mowgli's summoner worked out, and this seems even more weird than that was.

I am playing this same build in another game. I think it is promising as an interesting twist on a fabled character.
