General advice: it is really hard to screw up. Wvery character in my group was useful... except when someone tried to hard to optimize and didn't pay attention to concentration or bonus action rules...
Put your stats in natural order and only take feats if you are sure that what you are doing now is what you want to do forever.
Polearm master and great weapon mastery combo for example. If you take those deats you will have to use them no matter what happens.
What you are doing is great. You are willing to switch to cleric because it fits your playstyle. You just have to prepare your switch with a little stat increase.
You could also just ask your DM if he allows you to switch to cleric first and increase wisdom later, or to lower con by 1 and increase wis by one. A minor change that won't change anything of your character except that you are allowed to switch to cleric.
Maybe however it does not dit your character story to suddenly switch to cleric for no other reason than being a better supporter. Then really do take healer feat instead or increase wisdom and before your next level up spend downtime to make yourself acquainted with holy rites of some church.
