Trolm, visibly still figthing internally the years of training and "brainwashing" simply nods at his compagnion not adding a word. The group heads back towards the boat in the darkness.

----

Jasper (spot 4+1) notices three torches in the darkness. The torches seems to be very close one to another. The heavy woods prevent Jasper from seeign more from his location. As the lights continues to approach, the elf finally awake. "Hoooo, what is happening" says the first one, his mind visibly half awake. The second one is simply grumbling unintelligible stuff.

Captain Syl turns towards Oculus shaking his head. The sun behind them is slowly dissapearing behind the large city wall around them. "Indeed Oculus, we will have to spend at least one night here. He pauses to look at Uder. "It usually takes at least a day and that's if you are lucky to go through customs and the three locks leading to the sea.

Uder smiles calmly. "Do not worry Captain, we are head of schedule and my best soldier took care of our little problem. " He looks at Oculus and then back at the captain. "You look tired and bored. You need some entertainements my friend. He says with a confident smile. Uder positivism and self-assurance are almost contagious and the Captain can't prevent himself from smiling at the priest sligthly exagerated "act". "Tonight compagnion, we are sleeping at the Red Barrack and everything is on me" He finishes putting his hand on both Oculus and the captain shoulder.

Knowledge local 1+8: Oculus never heard or read about that place.

Solomon clasps Trolm on the shoulder with a firm grip. Then leads the small band out. Again, he will lead about 60 feet ahead, glancing back frequently to make sure the others are going the same way as he is. This time they do want to meet some villagers. He is reluctant to approach a large band that might attack them, but if he sees a small band he will approach and ask for their version of events.

The owner(s) of the lantern are probably walking down the same road. (listen 15+7) Solomon can hear through the wind in the tree and the small waves of the river, the faint metallic sound of their armor clingning as they walk, from the sound there must be two or three armored individual in that group at most.

Solomon glances back towards the torch carried by his two friends. Then he proceeds, confident in his own abilities. He will sneak closer to have a look. He has no interest in the King's soldiers, but if they look like villagers, he'll pause and follow, wanting his friends to catch up before accosting the strangers.

"Speak softly, people are coming."
He gestures towards the torches. "Hopefully they will not notice us, but be ready for anything. And get your friend up." Jasper crouches by the boat, waiting to see where the people in the woods go.

The torches continues to move in front of Jasper about 25 meters from their boats. (spot, listen 4+1;11+1) Jasper notices a single shadowing humanoid figure who seems to be pulling a carriage filled with smaller humanoid. The trees and the poor illumination provided by the torch prevents him from noticing more details. They seems to be moving at very fast walking speed. He can hear what he beleives are children crying behind in the cart.

One of the elf whispers to Jasper. "What happened to these children, the men is covered with blood and he is carrying a spear. I don't know if it's a good idea to help those childs. He pauses to look at Jasper slightly ashamed of himself "You know, we could jeopardise our mission, hehe

Solomon moving like a feline closes on the individual carrying the lantern (move silently 4+10, hide 20 +10) The heavy foliage allows him to effectively hide himself but on the other hands seems to make a lot of noises as he goes through them. He pauses about 30' feets from them carefully hiding and starts it's observation. (spot 16+9, listen 17+7)They don't seems to have notice anything. Solomon notices a human dressed as a soldier of the mergovian army, but his chain mail do not seems to be well taken cared of. He has a long bow strapped on his back with his shield and a long sword is sheated on his belt. On his side another human wearing a chain mail but without any insigna, a light crossbow hook to his belt and a greatsword on his back. behind them a red bearded dwarf in half-plate and carrying a large battle axe in his right hand and a large metalic shield on his left hand.

The dwarf who stays behind outside of the lantern light seems to be observing the surrounding using his darkvision to detect any intruder where the light from the lantern do not reach. The two humans in a big conversation do not seems as focus on detecting intruder. The soldier says "Damn Gerard, I am telling you, being here is the worst place we could be. Do you really think that they will give us an equal share. The other soldier on his side keeps on noding without saying too much. The poor men seems rather slow minded. "Not only that, you saw that blonde girl he The other human nods his approval visibly exited by the taught. "Well he knew I wanted to have some fun with her before killing her. I am telling you Herbert, we will not get our fair share here" The humans are now 20' from Solomon's position.

Solomon frowns. He's tempted to confront these men, as they appear to know something. But they look dangerous, and not trustworthy. They are mercenaries, perhaps, working for the king.

Are they walking towrards the city? or towards the Jasper? or neither?

Solomon figures he'll let them pass. They are unlikely to share their knowledge with him. Solomon looks over his shoulder for the torch light carried by Trolm and Dai. If it looks like these mercenaries will see that light, he'll head back and try to make them pause.

The guards are heading towards Jasper but they seems to be guarding the perimiter.

Wis check 20+2 Solomon estimates that unless they turn and starts heading in the other closing the distance between them and Dain and Trolm they probably won't notice them.

Jasper quietly watches the progress of the torches, hoping they'll pass by without noticing him.
