You may cast this spell even when it isn't your turn. The next time an effect would deal elemental damage to you and at least one other ally in the area of effect, each of the affected allies may use your saving throw result in place of their own, and they may make that decision after the dice are rolled.
I'm going for the sort of thing where a wizard slams the tip of his staff into the ground, sending up a glowing bubble which just barely deflects a dragon's flaming breath before vaporizing. Any thoughts on what level this should be, or a better mechanic to use? Maybe just a +2 deflection bonus?
