This is definitely true--I like to post my work in progress, especially for M&M where making characters is so incredibly long and difficult. Even without that, it is hard to notice all the submissions without something to signal the Judges.

I'm a new player, and I just missed the last mission call since I had soon revisions that needed to be done before final approval. I've got one PL 8 character ready to go (Spitfire, a flame/plasma energy projector) and I'm thinking about options for my PL 10 slot.

I have the crunch for a submission more or less done in a first draft...any chance I could get some of you gurus to take a peek and make sure I'm not making any egregious errors, or missing out on some good opportunities for better performance?

The basic concept is that of a wizard who has mastered some lower power spells (those that aren't in the array), but still relies on a grimoire for the more advanced spells (the array). One possible tripping point is that the grimoire is ALSO a sentient Construct, purchased as a Sidekick. Not sure if that works, ruleswise, though I can't see an immediate problem...I'm paying for it twice, basically. Once as a Device, and once as a Sidekick, for separate areas of function. Anyway, all help is appreciated!

Looked at the character, didnt do ANY number crunching I will save that for an actual review when the sheet is done.

So Sorceress gains greater magic power when in possession of the intelligent Grimoire.
It is actually her casting the spells correct not the sentient book? If so I dont really see an issue. Though I might suggest the Restricted Feat as it would seem that some one would need some arcane knowledge to use the book.

I did note that you have autofire on an area effect, normally these are incompatible.
I did propose we use Targeted Area rules awhile ago but recieved no feedback.
That would allow the usage of Autofire. The thread is here. I invite any and all that have an opinion to discuss it there.

Okay, I finally had my idea for a PL 8 Hero. It's pretty funny (at least to me) and should be a lot of fun--But it is taking *forever* to write it all up (several hours so far).

Basic concept--D&D-playing college student finds a mystic staff on vacation which catalyses him to gain magic powers. However, since he doesn't have a formal magic tutor to train him in how to do magic, he is only able to focus his magic by imagining the effects of D&D spells. He calls himself an '8th level Wizard', and he has a bunch of powers that are similar to D&D spells (and he names them after the spells and makes D&D references). Should be a lot of fun :D

Magic Rules!

Interestingly enough about 20% of the characters approved have some sort of magic related schtick.

Living Supers is definitely a "High Magic" gameworld. :)
