Drayvin, having cast the grease spell on Seros, and seeing his friends are still in peril, rides his horse till he is beside Sylvain and casts yet another spell. Then attack the striges or try to break their hold on you.."

Seros Animus
[section]~ Not only was it hotter than the 7th Hell.
Not only was the humidity enough to make it feel as if one were breathing the bog itself.
Not only were giant, mutant mosquitos killing him slowly with their insatiable hunger.

But now Seros Animus was covered in some sort of slick substance that decidedly did not make him any happier.

" Why, Firecast!?" he cried, " Have I displeased you??"

The only saving grace was that one of the stirges apparently wanted none of this new flavor added to the mix, detaching with a sickening *pop* from through Seros's clothing and attempting to make for freedom now that it was content.

" No. You. Don't!" he roared in reply to the monster's nonchalant buggery, bringing his blade back around to at least try and make the mutant suffer for the pain it had caused him.

Sadly, once more, the Aasimar's sword was as useful at this moment as a discharged wand, leaving him all the more infuriated and closer to death.

" That's it! I've had it with these Saints-Damned Stirges in this Saints-Damned Swamp!!!"

His sword lifted once more, Seros's indigo eyes burning red as he looked down at the Stirge still attached to his body. He felt nothing but the rage of his people, the strength of the Rornish, the unbeatable will of the Sword in his hands.

"Idź do diabła!!!" he growled, bringing the blade down hard in a cleaving cut meant to bisect the troublesome monster entirely.~[/section]

Caius Aurelius, Blessed Penitent

Drayvin's syncopated war song finally pierces Caius's focus, building in a slow crescendo like thunderclouds rolling nearer. The dark-skinned man's snarls become a roar as he raises his fists high overhead and then smashes down against a cluster of stirge legs. The sound of cracking chitin reverberates across the wetlands as the bloodsucker is removed from Caius's chest in a shower of splintered appendages. Somewhere in the back of the paladin's mind, he registers that those barbed legs could yet reattach to his unarmored flesh. But at the forefront of his consciousness is a flood of primal ferocity. White eyes shine with hunger for more bloodshed.

[section]Dravyin proudly rides forward, closing the gap towards Seros. He continues to triumphantly sing and inspire his comrades to even greater heights of rage. Fhanna slogs through bog, song-induced fire burning in her dwarven belly. She viciously spears one of the creatures attached to Caius, successfully avoiding Caius himself. Blood splatters into the swamp and onto the aasimar.

Seros has worked himself up into quite the mood. He agonizingly flails about as one of the stirges flits away. Redoubling his efforts and harnessing his emotion he is able to finally able to murder stab the other creature draining his life force. He cleaves the poor thing in two, and there is an admixture of its blood and his own pouring from both halves of the former insect into the swampy downs.

After finally giving in the incendiary melody performed by Drayvin, Caius found similar luck. He rips the creature off himself, barbed probiscus ripping out his flesh. Never has pain felt so good.

[/section][section]The tide finally seemed to be turning. The sleeping stirges remained so, and there was nothing wrong with that. After being forcibly removed from his paladin dinner, that creature decided to pass on desert and try flying away.

There is an uneasy silence for only a few seconds, before they all hear a dreadful sound. Buzzing. The same incessant buzzing. Coming from afar, is another flock of stirges. Once more, they are nearly surrounded yet again. About half a dozen or more appear, but the buzzing in the distance insinuate that there may be even moreso not far behind.

Seros Animus
[section]~ Seros was splattered in the disgusting remains of his enemy, unsure if the crimson soaking his coat was more his than the stirge's. Readily did he grab the prehensile stinger that was still jabbed into his side and yank it out, throwing the bisected torso of the monster to the ground and stepping on it for good measure.

The Aasimar staved off the pain as best he could, pleased to see that the enemy was retreating ... Until the sound came back again. The buzzing. The hellish buzzing.

" More ... More? MORE!?"

That was it. This was no longer just a skirmish in the swamp: this was a Holy Crusade against these relentless bloodsuckers. Clearly they had to be purged, burned from this land lest their infection spread.

Seros raised his sword high, throwing his head back while grasping the silver blades about his neck. For a moment, a brief, shining moment, it appeared as though the weapon of the Inquisitor was nothing but pure fire, swirling and flickering with flame before solidifying back into solid steel, ringing as if it had just struck something hard.

" Firecast, hear my plea! Guide our hands and steel our hearts! Proszę was!"

Seros flicked the blade to point down, grabbing the chain about his neck and pressing the holy symbol to the pommel of his cherished weapon. In a flash, a brilliant light burst in a wave from the contact of silver to steel, whipping Seros's hair and coat about from ethereal wind. The burning light of The Saints was with him, with his comrades: the holiest warriors of Rorn would now fight alongside the party and aid them in surviving these monsters. ~[/section]

OOC: I've made an error. Round 7 is the last round of the raging song. The benefit of moment of greatness lasts for 19/20 more rounds, including this one. This is a one-shot effect though, so if you've claimed the effect of the spell (not the song), you may not benefit from the spell again. Please PM me and/or screwy for further clarification.
