I took the last answer to mean: Have you served or are you serving in a military other than the U.S., and checked it. I am in the swiss army.

You forgot the other Uniformed Services.

Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service

edit: and the U.S. Coast Guard.

I tried to sign up for the Army and the Marine Corps fresh out of high school, but they wouldn't take me.

This was before I was quite so obviously physically disabled. Now, I just get really, really angry when they mail me recruiting crap-- and I long for the day one of the bastards tries to call me.
