Mithral Golem's Magic Immunity

In the SRD under Mithral Golem, it says:

Magic Immunity (Ex): A mithral golem is immune to all magical and supernatural effects,

Is this supposed to be different than most 3.5 Golems which in general just have infinite spell resistance instead of vague immunity like this? Or has it just not been updated? If this is real, does it mean it's immune to magic weapon special abilities too?

The later.

From the 3.5e SRD:

"Golem Entry:

Immunity to Magic (Ex): Golems have immunity to most magical and supernatural effects, except when otherwise noted."

Good question. Lemme check!

Magic weapon special abilities are (generally) not affected by Spell Imunity, because they (generally) are not affected by Spell Resistance (the base of the immunity we're talking about).

Okay. The problem I have with it is that a Mirthral golem is supposed to be a CR 21 epic level encounter. However, a 2000 gp Slaying Arrow has like a 35% chance of killing it in one shot (they have Fort +12). That seems a little excessive to me (and a bit annoying since the players might Gate in a Solar to deal with it, which shoots 4 slaying arrows every round with good attack mods, making it a trivial encounter).

I'd say a mithral golem's numerous immunities would protect it against a slaying arrow.

In addition to the above, constructs are immune to death effects (and necromancy).

Darkness - what's weird is that the slaying arrow specifically says it is a death effect when used against a living creature:

Note that even creatures normally exempt from Fortitude saves (undead and constructs) are subject to this attack. When keyed to a living creature, this is a death effect (and thus death ward protects a target).

True. Too bad for the mithral golem.

By the way, a mace of smiting also automatically destroys a construct on a critical hit.
