That one charge taught the goblin that he who hesitates is lost - and so he does no such thing. As soon as he catches glimpse of the critter, some fifty feet off, he charges at it, swinging his morning star wildly.

As the goblin approaches, he feels a stabbing pain in his brain, but shrugs it off (rolled a 17 on the save).

Swinging wildly seems to work for the goblin. He rolled a 19 (17+2 for charge), inflicting 6 points of damage. The brain mole is at -3 hit points and is dying. Neutral Evil goes wild! I believe the goblin enters the Hall of Fame.

Back to you Gansk. I have run two combats, and both of my combatants were killed in the first round.

The Goblin bows before the massive crowd of evildoers, quite impressed with himself!

He begins to pick little bits of fallen critter off of his mace while he awaits the next combatant.

Incredible! The goblin is racking up victories like a pinball machine!

Round 10:

A baboon charges to 55N105E and bites. The goblin's charge left it off balance for the baboon's attack. (Rolled 11+2 for charge =13)

9 points of damage! The goblin has -5 hp left and falls to the ground dying!

The goblin takes no action and is teleported away. The NE crowd laughs.

Next up for NE: a human warrior skeleton (MM)

When the Goblin reaches the infirmary and his wounds are treated, he lets loose a depressed sigh. He had such a good thing going for him, too.

(( Do enemies just appear in the arena? Do they always come through the doors? I've gotten the impression that they can come from any point. ))

Edit : Came in from the wrong side, oops.

The Skeleton, ragged and tattered with a scimitar strapped loosely around it's hipbone, enters at 60N0E, and begins to make it's way towards the Baboon. [Move Action to 60N30E]

The combatants are poised on the edge of each side of the arena. There are walls on the North and South side, but not the East and West. A new arrival can pick anywhere to enter on its side, but it must move into the arena before doing anything else.

Round 11:

The baboon charges to 55N35E and tries to bite the skeleton.

Chomp! (Rolled 21+2 for charge = 23)

7 points of damage! The bite does bludgeoning damage, so no DR for the skeleton.

The skeleton is destroyed! The baboon enters the Hall of Fame! :)

Next up for NE: a jermlaine (MM II)

(( Jeez. 1 HP, max damage of 1 [3 on a critical], no abilities at all that are combat worthy... this guy seems extremely out of place coming after the skeleton. ))

The Jermlaine enters the arena with a five-foot step at [55E0N] and proceeds to hurl a javelin at the baboon.

(The jermlaine's CR is higher than the skeleton. You mean 55N0E.)

The jermlaine heaves his dart at the baboon. It hits! (Rolled 20-2 for long range = 18)

1 point of damage! The baboon has 4 hp left.

Round 12:

Annoyed by the pin prick, the baboon charges to 55N5E and bites the jermlaine! (Rolled 16+2 for charge = 18)

4 points of damage! The jermlaine has -3 hp left and is dying!

The jermlaine is defeated! The baboon has 3 one round victories in a row!

Next up for NE: a kenku (MM III)
