Ditto on the coolness of the bulette. The way it's stepping off the base, though, I wonder if it'll block the space for the minis that are in front of it.

Sorry to hear about the gouging on the Star Wars minis. Maybe it'll crank demand back enough that they'll see the error of their ways. Tend to doubt it though; I've seen folks who won't spend a dime to purchase their own rulebooks buy a crate of minis without a second thought. Plastic crack.

the real question is whether these minis will appeal to non-gamer Star Wars collectors.

it seems those guys'll spend outrageous money on just about anything Star Wars-y.

Of course we will. :)
Damn straight. I may never run Star Wars anytime soon (my current group has an aversion due to past bad outings) but they must be mine. Honestly, I would buy modern/spy/futuristic/superhero (generic & existing) versions of these minis as well. The bases are the correct size and the prepainting is a must. I simply don't have the time nor the desire.

ok, so Star Wars collectors are going to go ga-ga over these. :)

i hope WOTC has a marketing plan that will get these minis into their hands. if the Star Wars miniatures are only sold at gaming stores, i'm afraid they won't. :\

Dude, it's Hasbro. They could stick these things in Toys R Us if they wanted to. I wouldn't be surprised if they did...
well sure, but is Hasbro putting D&D books and miniatures in Toys R Us? (i don't know; it's been years since i've been in a toy store.) if not, what are the chances that this particular WOTC product will get in there?

I'd say the chance is better simply because the miniatures are more "toys" than anything else out there related to RPGs. That and it is Star Wars. Put it next to the figures, videogames or even at the counter and I'm sure it'll sell.

Or just put it right next to the Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon products. That'd work, too. I'm not saying it will happen but it could. Star Wars stuff tends to sell pretty well if it looks good. It would probably sell better in the usual haunts like bookstores and game shops but it seems that WotC is branching out (there is another thread about that around here somewhere) and toy stores are the next logical step.

or promo minis could just be packaged with the star wars toys.
