Over the years I've dabbled in everything from baking cookies to building furniture... Essentially, I make stuff when I'm bored or stressed - I see little difference between, say, baking cookies, making chainmail, and building furniture, because it's all just variations on tools, processes and materials for me. Thus, I've developed a fairly wide range of basic crafting skills. (Hell, sometimes I make animals with the tinfoil I wrap my sandwiches in, I've carved small statues out of soap before, and one time I made a portrait of Jar Jar Binks out of hash browns and ketchup at a late-night diner.)
The majority of my hobbies are rpg or otherwise gaming-related (rpgs, miniatures, occasionally video games). Outside of gaming-related hobbies I tend to cycle randomly through a handful of hobbies based on what's happened to inspire me at the moment.
My occasional "hobbies" that I don't really do on a regular basis include various aspects of costuming and cosplay (sewing, leatherwork, homemade special effects), building things and woodworking (I have pretty good home repair and DIY skills), and baking/cooking. I'd guess reading falls under this category as well - I go through long cycles of famine and flood when it comes to reading.
Up until my late 20's or so, I used to write poetry and short stories, but I haven't done that in quite some time. Now most of my creative literary forays are rpg-related. I also used to do chainmail, jewelry and beadwork years ago.
And for almost a decade I was heavily involved in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
I used to do nature/landscape and architecture photography (I'm just a snapshot artist really) until my camera broke. And before my computer drowned in a flooded basement (and I lost my programs, multiple gb of source material and most of my previous work) I used to do a lot of digital image manipulation. (Before WotC crashed their forums, I used to be one of the primary contributors to the What Do YOU Think My Character Looks Like? threads. And I've obviously posted a lot of my work in the current D&D Meme thread on here and in the various threads in this forum.)
Hopefully, some day I'll be able to scrape up the money to get a new camera and a better computer and get back into them.
