Notes on the Aether (Rae judging)

OOC: or is it? Galwynn's sheet says 20', but he seems to be in light load. Shouldn't he have a move of 30'? Oh, right, he's in chainmail, not a chain shirt. Ah.

Well, if Galwynn can get an attack in, he will. If not, he'll move up to attack the Fire Elemental (or the Water Elemental) next round.

OOC: while I'm busy telling everyone what they can and can't do: if Galwynn's going to take an AoO for his movement regardless, since he has no Dex bonus to AC to lose he could just as easily use the Run action to move as far as he likes in a straight line to clear the stairs if he wishes (60' move to the square north of Keldar).

OOC: Okay! No, Tarag can't take a 5' step, for two reasons. First, the stairs are too crowded, so he can't take a step anyway. Second, even if the stairs weren't crowded, that's part of combat! Planning, communicating, making a mistake, limiting mobility, and making the fight tough.

Still need an official action from Tommy.

ooc: Sorry, I thought I was clear before, but I guess not. There being no other safe options available, Tommy will full withdraw down the stairs behind everybody.

As Tommy carefully backs down the stairs, he cannot help but stare at the whirling flames that make up the fire elemental's body. How fascinating, he thinks, that such terror and such beauty combine in one being. It's like a waterfall, or a thunderstorm.

ooc: bump. :)

Galwynn flies up the stairs at top speed (run) past Tarag and Tommy. He thinks about stopping to strike, but decides the effort would be fruitless. As he passes, the elemental lashes out with its sword. It mostly misses, but the burning heat from the blade damages him. (Hits AC 20, 4 damage to Galwynn) Galwynn makes it to the top of the stairs to the right of Keldar.

Tommy withdraws down the stairs.

Rapture misses.

Tarag's jaw tightens as the elemental throws off Chennet's command and scorches the fair young paladin. He brandishes his holy symbol once more and once more rebukes the fiery menace.

Once more it ignores him.

"Bloody thing!"
