Hero
Nova is a hero from the late 1970s (that I am familiar with (Nova (Richard Rider) - Wikipedia ) ), but I believe (like most heroes) his origin/identity/powers/group affiliations have changed over the years.
His origin and identity have remained basically the same over the years although he was out of the picture for a while and Sam Alexander kind of took his place and he is still around as well. He has certainly had some power upgrades though.

Link doesn't work. Who/what's Nova?
Nova, was in fact the very first Marvel comic book I ever read, my big sister (who is 7 years older than I) was reading Nova and Morbius (before that I had been exposed to my fathers copies of the Phantom, Mandrake, Commando and Western comics)

Anyway Nova Corps was introduced in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, so I for one have been keenly waiting for Richard to be given the Nova Force and suit so he can go out fighting Space Pirates.

Nova is a kid who pretty much gets the "Green Lantern Treatment" of taking on the mantle of an interplanetary law enforcement officer, when the officer comes to Earth. We've already pretty much seen his suit in the MCU, in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie. The Nova Corps is the 'police force.' I had the origin comic before..... The Incident.

yeah IGN ranked Nova as 98th on their greatest superhero list and described him as a mix of Spiderman and the Green Lantern.
