Omniscient Projects Presents Dystopia!
Late in development, Dystopia is a brand new campaign setting and launch title of newcomer Omniscient Projects. Totally 3.5 compatible, Dystopia presents an exciting and brand new world with new twists on an old system.
The brainchild of writers Matthew Kane and Sean Waite, Dystopia hopes to present unparalleled detail and explanation to the gaming world. How does magic work, what's the ranking system in the churches, what's the population of the small outcropping of farming villages in the far west, and why did goblins develop into regional and caste subraces? All these questions and more will be answered throughout Dystopia's release. No more will you see, "this area was intentionally left blank so the DM can fill in his own information," as any good DM knows he's allowed to change anything he wants.
But Dystopia doesn't only hope to answer questions in a tired and recycled game setting. Dystopia also adds a number of changes and twists to the common fantasy setting to make it more exciting to live and play in. The mighty Elves have been entirely eradicated from the face of the planet, and creatures such as Kobolds and Centaurs come to the front as PC races. Magic uses a new mana based system for added realism and flexibility among the magic class, and exciting new classes, such as the Wild Mage, lie in store for the players. Also, most classes received heavy revisions, like the Ranger and Holy Knight (Paladin).
