What if Belker falls through the snarl to the "other place" there? That would fulfill the prophecy, right?

Yes, it would fulfill it very well indeed. It would also explain why he'd be off the radar to Tiamat's prophet. For all the evidence in the comic, the Snarl might not even unmake mortals / souls, but instead trap them in THAT world outside the reach of the setting's gods.

And if OOTS are going there, getting rid of Durkon makes sense since he's have no spells being cut off from the gods.

I don't think it would. The prophecy the Oracle makes is "Belkar will draw his last breath -- ever -- before the end of the year." See OotS 572 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0572.html).

Belkar becoming some form of undead might be a possibility, but just travelling to an alternate world will not suffice.

I'd say it would, because it is already shown that world is 100% off the Gods' radar*. he goes in and to Tiamat and to the rest of the Deities, he's gone.

* Or if that other world is still on the Gods' radar, they flat out lie about it to the mortals.
