[OT] Miniature Storage Question

A friend of mine found a brand new rifle case for sale at a rummage sale for $5. It looks like it'll store a good 100+ minis.

Depending on your profession, you may have good cases lying around! I've found that carboard boxes used for storing computer harware (memory and motherboards, for example) is great for storing mini's.

These boxes are usually "hinged" and come with foam packing already!

The same can be said for many boxes that stereo equipment is sold in.

Which one is the oversized one that you found to be the most useful?

The top layer comes off and there is more foam underneath. The bottom layer would only be good for medium sized figs or smaller. For that matter, so is the top layer, you would have to cut some of the foam for larger figs.

I think for most people one or two of these cases should do fine if you only use them for traveling. I have bought slotted shadow boxes (Hobby Lobby or Michael's) that hang on a wall to store them at home.

I forgot. I thought of rifle cases, but with all of the terror and violence going on around the world I did not think it would be a good idea traveling with the rifle case. It could just warrant unwanted attention. Just my 2 cents worth

I saw these at the GAMA Trade Show in Vegas and plan to pick one up. With 8 fully customizable trays, it is a bargain at $60.00.

I saw the Army Transport bag to. It looks great, but I had a hard time justifying $60 for a figure case. Maybe when I am batter at painting and have more done. It looks way cool. Does anyone use one yet??
