Solace remembered a story about a prisoner who had kept fit, maintaining an exercise regimen while in prison. As a result, he had been able to do amazing feats of derring do on his escape. She'd read the talk as a child, and as the thought entered her head, she realized her time incarcerated might have been better spent.

It was too late for that now. She seemed almost irrelevant to the fight between Quaggoths, and to her estimation it was not clear who was in the right, nor could she divine why they were in disagreement, beyond the obvious fact of the door that separated them. She could not afford however to ignore them.

Again, her hands still manacled, she stabbed at the ferocious beast before her. She lunged forward, with all of her weight before the sparkling creature.

OOC: Attack to hit (advantage) the better of [roll0] and [roll1].
Damage, if successful, is [roll2], plus [roll3] damage from sneak attack (piercing).

If the creature should fall, she will move 30' towards the stalactite (slowing to bypass the giant centipede, which she presumes will make way for her.

EDIT: finally! respectable damage on my unsuccessful hit!

Brinn leapt over top the centipede and, pushing out his foot, placed a well-aimed kick at Quaggoth 1 that connected with the creature's solar plexus, dealing 6 points of damage. Before the quaggoth could claw again at Solace, it dropped to the ledge, then toppled off the side, its hairy form falling into darkness. Brinn used the kinetic energy of his kick to push off the quaggoth's falling form; he backflipped overtop the centipede and came to rest lightly on the balls of his feet ten feet distant. Quaggoth 3--still inside the rent iron bars of the cell--hissed at the death of its foe then fell to silently staring at Solace. She saw feral baseness there, but also understanding. The quaggoth seemed to be waiting for her reaction. The others inside the cell, however, increased their rancor and began pushing and shoving, clearly wanting to be free of the cell.

The centipede whipped around and faced the being behind her. Its chitinous head bobbed briefly and its antenae groped the air before it scuttled over the edge of the narrow walkway. Its numerous feet could be heard rasping on the stone below Brinn and it popped up behind him and scuttled across the bridge to the stalactite.

[sblock=Combat]Action:
Move over the edge and along the wall using climb. Pop up behind Brinn and cross the bridge. If there are window visible in the upper level of the stalactite then Raza will climb up and through and use a bonus action to revert to her halfling form if there are no drow. If there are drow inside, she'll stay in centipede form. If there are no windows she will continue in centipede form along the outside of the stalactite to the bridge at U21.

Round 5, continued

Raza the Centipede gamboled down the cliff face, then up again, across the first rope bridge, and over the outside the stalactite. Finding no windows on the stalactite, the centipede continued on, scurrying down the second rope bridge. She halted directly behind Buppido, who turned around when he felt something creep up behind him. The derro's eyes widened in horror. Raza's centipede blindsense told her there was probably another stalactite somewhere near at hand, and perhaps a wider stone ledge platform, too. She felt open air around her body, however, which tipped her that the chasm likely yawned on all sides of the rope bridge. The roar of water was loudest here, and Raza could feel a spray of fine mist settle on the chitin of her exoskeleton; a waterfall was nearby.

OOC: I think the giant centipede could probably easily climb on the underside of a rope bridge, [MENTION=40413]GlassEye[/MENTION]. Perhaps that will come into play later on? Kamael's turn, [MENTION=33284]Yavathol[/MENTION]!

End of Round 5

Kamael flung open all three chests inside the armory. He didn't have much time to inventory, but he noted that in addition to the 6 chain shirts, 6 studded leathers, and 6 shields hanging from wooden pegs on the wall, the three chests contained: 6 hand crossbows; 20 cases of hand crossbow bolts (each case with 20 bolts); 6 shortswords and 10 daggers; 6 bags of caltrops (20 caltrops per bag); 4 100' coiled lengths of silk rope; 2 building hammers (not usable as weapons); and 2 bags of iron spikes (10 spikes per bag). Additionally, a heap of what looked like it might be prisoners' backpacks and gear lay in a pile to one side. Recognizing his own pack and Solace's, Kamael snatched both. He lifted up the armory's trap door and stuck his head downstairs. When he saw Jimjar and Kago, he sniffed to get their attention, and quietly indicated he'd found something worthwhile.

Jimjar quickly unlocked Kago's manacles--surprising the orc with his dexterity--then scaled the rope ladder in no time flat. Shuushar the kuo-toa appeared inside the stalactite and made his way up the rope ladder as well. The rotund kuo-toa was in no particular hurry; he seemed to know precisely where to head, and ambled at a leisurely pace. His Highness slipped forward from the cell and cautiously peered around. He stealthily passed through the stalactite with the armory, then made his way out to the rope bridge, stopping just behind the centipede. Derendil appeared not to notice or mind Raza's wildshaped centipede form in the slightest. Buppido, however, screeched in terror at Raza and took off like a shot. Most of the sound of the derro's screech was muffled by the roar of the waterfall. He rounded the opposite side of a second stalactite and was out of sight. A beat later, Derendil pointed toward the far end of the outpost. "I say, what's that?" Raza could not make out what on earth the quaggoth pointed to.

Inside the stalactite, Stool cried out over the link to Brinn. [sblock=Telepathic Link]"Brinn! I can't climb!"[/sblock]

OOC: Yavathol's busy with a holiday thing tonight, so he's asked me to post for him. Kamael has unearthed most of the armory on the second story of the stalactite. His find includes everyone's gear. He's alerted Kago and those inside the stalactite about his find. He had time to grab both his pack and Solace's pack, plus any two other items of his choice (I'll let Yavathol determine which two items). No one outside the stalactite will have heard him say about his find, however. Anyone who wants to could move and take the Dash action this round to get inside the stalactite and up the rope ladder. It'll be space available, however. The white circle to the northeast of the stalactite is the armory on the stalactite second story. Kago's up to bat, [MENTION=23298]industrygothica[/MENTION]!

Kago is surprised that Jimjar removed his manacles. In all his years, never has he seen an orc freed from restraints. He starts at the noise from above, but quickly settles his nerves and follows the fish-man up the ladder. He immediately spot his gear and reaches for his warhammer, snatching it up like a soldier returned home to his lover. He grips it tight with his un-bound hands and looses a sinister growl. He looks at Kamael and the others, the drow-blood markings still wet on his face. "Now we fight!"

OOC: Action: Climb ladder, have a happy reunion, don armor. Really, really big armor.

OOC: Donning Armor: shield (1 action); light armor (1 minute); medium armor (5 minutes); heavy armor (10 minutes). Kago has a chain shirt and shield, and they're both in the heap of prisoner gear. It'll take him 5 minutes to don the chain shirt, plus one action to don the shield. Still want to proceed? Also, please note that the drow have ripped off Kago; if he had any coin, it's gone. Everything else is there, however.

OOC: I'm assuming the Quaggoths are out in a round or two anyways. If it looks like the door is going to hold, then I'll help with the lock, but I suspect that's not the case.

Solace held the Quaggoth's eyes for a moment. It was clear that strength alone would be enough to break down the door, and so she titled her head, winked with a lopsided smile, and bolted back away from what she expected would imminently be a horde of quaggoths (a mass of Quaggoths? A quiver?), and made her escape.

OOC: Solace runs to the stalactite (move and bonus action from cunning action (Dash). What she does for her action depends on what she can see or infer (in order):
- if she sees Jimjar with the means to open manacles, she will offer her hands to him (right now I'm pretty sure she doesn't know he's been doing this, and so...
- if she sees the rope ladder, she will climb up it, confident that the quaggoths won't follow.
- if she sees none of these things, she will continue along the next bridge to Raza-as-centipede (though I don't think she knows it is Raza at this point).
