Prestige class question

Evasive Celerity (Ex): At 5th level, your knowledge of the haste spell makes you difficult to target with spells. While under the effect of a haste spell that you cast yourself, individually targeted spells have a 20% chance of failing against you. This spell failure chance increases by +10% at 6th, 7th, and 8th level. The effect of this ability does not stack with blink or similar spell effects.

So at 8th level Swiftblade the chance of spell failure cast at you is 50%.
Q What spells, any but area spells?

For Evasive Celerity to be effective, the spell must specify individual targets. Magic Missile, for example, would be a spell that could fail against the swiftblade because of Evasive Celerity even though it can have multiple targets. Fireball or Black Tentacles aren't subject to Evasive Celerity because they do not specifically target individuals.

Charm Monster, Mass would be subject to EC since it still targets individuals. Polymorph wouldn't work because it requires the target to be willing, and a willing swiftblade would simply let it work. Polymorph Any Object would be subject to the 50% miss, if the swiftblade wasn't willing.

The answer is simple: Every spell that has a "Target: ..." entry in it's description's header is subject to Evasive Celerity.

that is what I meant =P
By RAW I think buffs are included, but being reasonable your DM shouldn't use EC with them.
