Situation: Under current house rules, Expertise feats are banned for basic character creation, and each character receives a free Expertise feat (player's choice) at 5th level. However, since that rule was adopted, at least one class/build has been released which receive an Expertise feat as a class feature. By banning Expertise feats for normal character creation, such characters are denied one of their intended class features. Currently, this applies to the Hunter build of essential-Rangers, but other classes may have it in future releases.
Proposal 1: If a particular class or class build specifically receives an Expertise feat as a class feature, they get that feat as their description indicates (in the case of e-Ranger Hunters, this is at 1st level). They also get a free Expertise feat at 5th level (if they want another one).
Also:
Proposal 2: The Essentials feat 'Master at Arms' provides a +1 feat bonus to all weapon attacks (and a quick draw/sheath weapon trick). While it is not by name an Expertise feat, it gives similar bonus- so I propose that it be considered an Expertise feat under L4W house rules.
