D&D 5E protection from elements?

CapnZapp

Legend
Boots of the Winterlands (an uncommon item) have a clause very similar to endure elements, just specific to extreme cold/ice and snow.

IIRC, the general rule in 5e is if you have resistance to cold or fire damage, you are immune to extreme cold or extreme heat. Good reasons to change them up in homebrew, but iirc that's RAW.
Thank you. I have waited breathlessly for almost exactly nine years for that reply. :)

A few months even later. But, just to add, since anything resistant to Fire/Cold is immune to extreme heat/cold, anything that is naturally resistant is also immune. So, Fire Genasi are fine in heat, Dragonborn are fine in heat/cold depending on color, and Tieflings with Infernal Constitution are just straight-up element-proofed (fire, cold, poison). Tiefling Monks and Bard can be rather implacable, apparently.
